Special Features:

For this limited edition, Tomintoul matured in American oak ex-bourbon casks before receiving a finish in Cognac casks. Master Distiller Robert Fleming selected the casks in France. This finishing period adds a pronounced fruity character to the single malt.

The whisky was distilled in 2009 and bottled in 2023 after 14 years. The release comprises 8,082 individually numbered bottles. Bottled at 46% without chill filtration or added colouring, this edition comes in a 0.7-litre bottle with a presentation tube.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, sweet almond pudding and baked apricots mingle with vanilla and cedarwood. Dark chocolate and pink pepper add further aromatic notes.
• Palate: The palate reveals ginger biscuits, sandalwood, muscovado sugar and white chocolate. Subtle hints of dark berries, greengages and baking spices accompany them.
• Finish: On the finish, warming spices and toasted oak give way to lingering notes of vanilla cream, milk chocolate and roasted chestnuts.

Distillery/Bottler:

Founded in 1965, Tomintoul Distillery lies near the village of the same name in the Cairngorms National Park. It uses soft water from the Ballantruan spring and tall stills to make its whisky. These help shape the soft, balanced style of its single malts.

Master Distiller Robert Fleming comes from a family that has distilled whisky in Speyside for four generations. He has overseen Tomintoul alongside his team for more than three decades. For this edition, his work also included selecting the French Cognac casks.
