Maturation in bourbon barrels shapes this 25-year-old Tomintoul. Master Distiller Robert Fleming selects the casks for the bottling, bringing together a robust, fruity character with sweet and spicy facets. The single malt won the Best Scotch Whisky award at The Global Spirits Masters 2020.

This official distillery bottling has an alcohol content of 43%. The bottle contains 0.7 litres and comes in a premium box.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose is robust and rich. Toffee with dark sugar syrup, oat biscuits and sultanas lead the aromas, with subtle accents of muscovado sugar and toasted oak.
• Palate: On the palate, sweet notes of salted caramel and maple syrup mingle with rolling tobacco and caramelised nuts. Oak spice ties this complex mix together, while stone fruit adds further accents.
• Finish: The long finish is warming, with lingering notes of coffee cake, caramel cream and burnt sugar.

Distillery/Bottler:

Tomintoul was founded in 1965 and lies near the village of the same name in the Cairngorms National Park. The Speyside distillery uses soft water from the Ballantruan spring and tall stills. These are among the foundations of its soft, balanced distillery style.

Master Distiller Robert Fleming comes from a family that has distilled whisky in Speyside for four generations. Together with his team, he is responsible for producing Tomintoul single malts. For the 25-year-old bottling, he also selects the matured casks.
