Special Features:

Tomintoul Peaty Tang brings a smoky dimension to the distillery’s gentle character. This expression combines unpeated and heavily peated malt whiskies from the same distillery. It therefore remains a single malt, with the different spirits shaping its interplay of sweetness and peat smoke.

Alongside the smoke are floral and sweet, fruity impressions, as well as a delicate malty, nutty note. The miniature contains 0.05 litres at 40% alcohol and comes in cylindrical packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Pronounced peat smoke leads on the nose, complemented by subtle hints of heather and spice.
• Palate: On the palate, smoky and earthy notes combine with a light sweetness.
• Finish: The finish lingers with a warming sensation and gentle peppery notes.

Distillery/Bottler:

Tomintoul Distillery is in Speyside, near the village of the same name in the Cairngorms National Park. Whisky has been produced here since 1965. Its water comes from the Ballantruan Spring. Master Distiller Robert Fleming oversees the distillery’s work; his family has been making whisky in Speyside for four generations.

The equipment includes a semi-lauter mash tun, six stainless-steel washbacks and four pot stills: two for the first distillation and two for the second. Alongside its usually unpeated spirit, Tomintoul also produces peated whisky, released under names including Old Ballantruan. The distillery has belonged to Angus Dundee Distillers since August 2000.
