Special Features:

For this small-batch whisky, a Spanish sherry finish follows maturation in bourbon casks. Master Distiller Robert Fleming selected Tomintoul whiskies initially matured in ex-bourbon Barrels made from American oak. The whiskies were then married and given further maturation in hand-selected Pedro Ximénez Sherry Butts from Andalusia.

Dried fruit, pastries and spicy, nutty notes define this edition's character. It remains non-smoky and is bottled at 40% without added colouring. The bottle contains 0.7 litres and comes in a tube.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, sweet dark sugar syrup and dried figs mingle with raisins, malty fruit loaf and baking spices.
• Palate: Fruitcake and banana bread appear first on the palate. These are followed by impressions of marzipan-filled dates, toasted walnuts and sultanas, accompanied by subtle hints of cloves and cinnamon.
• Finish: The finish recalls Danish pastries, cocoa powder and syrup-soaked sponge cake. These impressions gradually fade into a warming aftertaste of oak and tobacco.

Distillery/Bottler:

Founded in 1965, Tomintoul Distillery lies on the Glenlivet Estate in the Cairngorms National Park, near the village from which it takes its name. It makes whisky using soft water from the Ballantruan spring and tall stills. These help underpin the distillery's gentle, balanced style.

Master Distiller Robert Fleming comes from a family now in its fourth generation of whisky making in Speyside. He has overseen Tomintoul for more than thirty years. Together with his team, he is responsible for producing its Single Malts; for this edition, he also selected the bourbon-cask-matured whiskies and the casks used for the sherry finish.
