Special Features:

An Oloroso finish gives this triple-distilled Bushmills its fruity, spicy character. The single malt first matures for at least ten years in bourbon and sherry casks, before further maturation in Oloroso sherry butts from Bodega Paez-Morilla in Jerez. The casks used for this finish were selected by the then Master Blender, Helen Mulholland.

This limited edition was created for the travel retail market. It combines ripe stone fruit and dried fruit with honey, chocolate and wood spice. The whiskey is bottled at 46%; the bottle holds 1 litre and comes in an orange presentation tube.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals ripe peaches and apricots alongside dark woodland berries. Prunes and figs add dried-fruit notes. Spicy oak, dark chocolate and vanilla accompany the fruity bouquet.
• Palate: The whiskey is soft and mouth-filling on the palate. The fruit flavours return, including dried figs and prunes, accompanied by nutty notes. Vanilla and honey appear first, then give way to raisins, praline, aromatic spices and pronounced Spanish wood notes.
• Finish: Fruity and spicy impressions persist through the long finish. Dried fruit, apple pie and sweetish wood notes linger.

Distillery/Bottler:

The Old Bushmills Distillery is in County Antrim on Ireland’s north coast, near the Giant’s Causeway. Its water comes from Saint Columb's Rill, a tributary of the River Bush. Malt distillation, maturation, blending and bottling all take place on site. The distillery uses only malted barley for its single malts and distils them three times.

The date 1608 commemorates the distilling licence granted to Sir Thomas Phillipps for the region. A fire destroyed much of the distillery in 1885, after which it was rebuilt. The casks for this sherry edition were selected during Helen Mulholland’s tenure. Alex Thomas succeeded her as Master Blender in 2021.
