This single-cask bottling from The Causeway Collection combines prolonged maturation in a port wine cask with Bushmills' triple distillation. The Single Malt was distilled on 19 April 1989 and matured for 32 years in port wine cask number 6095. La Maison du Whisky selected the whiskey for an exclusive bottling.

The whiskey was bottled in 2021 at a cask strength of 53.8%. The release comprises 354 bottles, each containing 0.7 litres. It is non-chill-filtered and contains no added colouring. It comes in a hexagonal premium box.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose initially combines vanilla, heady scents of lily, broom and mimosa, and sage and verbena with passion fruit, banana and pineapple. With air, cinnamon, black pepper and ginger emerge. Candied lemon, mango and whitecurrants then appear.
• Palate: The palate opens with a distinct liquorice note. In the middle, whitecurrants develop a fresh acidity, accompanied by marshmallow and intense violet and lavender notes. Malted barley emerges towards the end of the palate.
• Finish: The long, balanced finish feels airy and carries the exotic, floral and spicy impressions onwards. Herbal notes then recall chamomile and rosemary tea. Salted butter caramel lingers at the end of the palate and in the aromas returning through the nose.

Distillery/Bottler:

Old Bushmills Distillery is located in County Antrim in the north of the island of Ireland. Its name derives from the mills on the River Bush, which supplies the distillery with water. The region's distilling tradition is documented by a distilling licence granted in 1608. The distillery was rebuilt following a devastating fire in 1885.

Malted barley forms the basis of Bushmills' Single Malts. Even when a barley tax prompted other Irish producers to use additional grains in the 19th century, Bushmills continued to use malted barley for its Single Malts. Triple distillation is a defining feature of its production methods. For this official Bushmills bottling, La Maison du Whisky selected the individual cask.
