Redbreast 12 combines bourbon and Oloroso sherry cask maturation with whiskey distilled from malted and unmalted barley. It matures for twelve years in American oak casks previously used for bourbon and Spanish oak casks previously used for Oloroso sherry. This combination shapes its fruity, spicy character and sherry notes, which mingle with toasted wood on the palate.

Triple distillation takes place in copper pot stills. Unlike a single malt, this Single Pot Still Whiskey is not made exclusively from malted barley: Unmalted barley is also part of its grain composition. It is bottled at 40% alcohol and comes in a 0.7-litre bottle with gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, fruity and spicy aromas meet toasted wood.
• Palate: The whiskey is full-bodied and silky on the palate. Fruit and spice balance with sherry and toasted notes to create a layered flavour.

Redbreast is produced at Midleton Distillery in County Cork, Ireland. By using malted and unmalted barley and triple distillation in copper pot stills, the distillery carries on the Irish Single Pot Still tradition. For the twelve-year-old Redbreast, it combines this production style with maturation in bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks.

The Redbreast brand name has been officially documented since 1912. Its history thus reaches back well before it became part of Pernod Ricard in 1988. Single Pot Still Whiskey remains at the heart of the brand.
