Special Features:

A three-year finish in ruby port wine casks sets Rising Reserve No. 3 apart within the limited series. The 21-year-old Irish single malt spent its first 18 years in ex-bourbon casks. The port casks bring notes of ripe cherry, plum and milk chocolate, while brown sugar and gentle oak spice link its fruity and spicy sides.

The third edition was limited to 6,000 bottles. The whiskey is bottled at 46% without chill filtration or added colouring and comes in a premium presentation box.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, caramel and dried red fruit mingle with sandalwood.
• Palate: On the palate, brown sugar and chocolate trifle meet Christmas cake and juicy plum, with a note of cherry too.
• Finish: The long finish leaves notes of golden syrup, soft tannins, cooked barley and oak spice.

Distillery/Bottler:

The Teeling family’s connection to Dublin whiskey dates back to the distillery Walter Teeling founded in 1782. Jack and Stephen Teeling have shaped the brand since 2012; in 2015, they opened today’s Teeling Whiskey Distillery in the historic Liberties distilling district. The 21-year-old whiskey in this edition was distilled before that distillery opened.

For the Rising Reserve series, the Teeling family selects long-matured single malt casks and gives each edition a distinct finish. No. 3 follows maturation in ex-bourbon casks with an unusually long finish in ruby port wine casks. Teeling bottles the finished whiskey under its own brand.
