Finishing grain and malt whiskey together in rum casks shapes Teeling Small Batch. Both components first mature in ex-bourbon barrels. The selected whiskeys are then blended and spend up to a further twelve months in rum casks from Central America. This maturation gives the blend its distinctive dried-fruit character.

Floral and herbal notes meet vanilla, raisins and apricots. On the palate, sweetness combines with a creamy texture and gently tingling spice. The triple-distilled whiskey is bottled at 46% without chill filtration; the bottle contains 0.7 litres.

• Nose: On the nose, floral aromas combine with sweet vanilla, rum-soaked raisins and allspice.
• Palate: The whiskey feels creamy on the palate. Dried fruit meets warming spice.
• Finish: The long finish is warming, with balanced oak and spice notes.

Distillery/Bottler:

The Teeling family's connection to Dublin whiskey dates back to 1782, when Walter Teeling founded a distillery on Marrowbone Lane. Jack and Stephen Teeling have shaped the present-day brand since 2012. In 2015, they opened their new distillery in the Liberties, Dublin's historic distilling district, near the family's former site. It was the city's first new distillery to open in more than 125 years.

Unusual cask maturation is one of the ways Teeling shapes its whiskeys. For Small Batch, grain and malt whiskeys already matured in bourbon casks are placed together in rum casks for further maturation. Teeling forgoes chill filtration before bottling to retain as much body and richness as possible.
