Special features: The High Coast Silent Mills 04 Box is the fourth release of the smoky Silent Mills series from High Coast Distillery. This single malt whisky was bottled with a phenol content of 41 ppm and matured in a combination of former bourbon and port wine casks. The bottling was done at 51% vol. and is neither colored nor chill-filtered. A total of 6,200 bottles were produced.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: A deep, warm, and sweet aroma with smoky notes, accompanied by poached pears and apples, spicy ginger cake, resin, vanilla, as well as a hint of orange peel and licorice.
- Palate: Strong, earthy smoke combined with sweet port wine notes, warming oak-vanilla, spices like cloves and orange peels, and a creamy texture.
- Finish: Medium to long, dominated by peat, with hints of licorice, white pepper, and a touch of ginger from the port wine finish.

The Silent Mills series honors the historical sawmill industry on the Ångermanälven, particularly the "Box" sawmill.
