Lindores Abbey Friar John Cor Congregation Chapter 3

Special features: This limited release honors the tradition of the Lindores Abbey Distillery, which dates back to the first written mention of Scotch whisky in 1494. The Friar John Cor Congregation Chapter 3 was matured in a combination of Amontillado and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks as well as former bourbon barrels. After maturation, the whiskies were blended and united in refill sherry casks to enhance depth and complexity. It was bottled with a robust alcohol content of 60.2% directly at the distillery.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: Sweet vanilla, sugar beet syrup, red apples, liquid honey, floral notes, and dried fruits.
  • Palate: Full-bodied with dark syrup, fruity raisins and figs, accompanied by warm spices, dark chocolate, and nuts.
  • Finish: Long and warm with lingering flavors of chocolate fudge and sweet cinnamon.

Distillery/Bottler: The Lindores Abbey Distillery is located in the Scottish Lowlands and has its roots in the historic Lindores Abbey, founded in the 12th century. The distillery was reopened in 2017 and has been producing single malt whisky that continues the tradition of the first written mention of Scotch whisky in 1494.
