Special features: This limited edition from the renowned Sumo Series of the Mars Tsunuki Distillery masterfully combines the art of cask maturation with the tradition of Japanese whisky. The whisky was aged for seven years in bourbon barrels and then further refined in the cooler elevations of the Komagatake distillery. This double maturation gives it remarkable depth and complexity. With a release of only 199 bottles, this single malt is a true collector's item.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Intense aromas of vanilla, caramel, and ripe exotic fruits, accompanied by a hint of roasted almonds.
- Palate: Full-bodied and smooth with notes of light caramel, roasted oak, and a touch of flambéed banana.
- Finish: Long and warming with an elegant aftertaste of oak wood, dried fruits, and a slight liveliness.
Distillery/Bottler: The Mars Tsunuki Distillery, founded in 2016, is located in southern Kagoshima and is known for its innovative maturation methods. By combining Tsunuki and Komagatake maturation, whiskies with a unique character are created.
