Orkney 2005/2022 #2 (Berry Bros and Rudd) - Kirsch

Special features: This powerful single malt comes from one of the two distilleries of the Orkney archipelago and has been aged in an American Oak Hogshead cask (No. 2). With only 317 bottles worldwide, this release is presented at cask strength and without chill filtration, which particularly preserves the original aromas in an intense way. The release was made exclusively for the Swiss importer Kirsch.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: Intense peat smoke, accompanied by honey and a pleasant fruity note with hints of light berries
  • Palate: Strong and complex with hints of leather, sweet maltiness, and a touch of spice
  • Finish: Long-lasting, smoky with an elegant spice and gentle fruit play

Distillery/Bottler: Berry Bros. & Rudd, based in the historic building on St. James’s Street in London, has a tradition of over 300 years as Britain’s oldest specialist retailer of premium spirits. The company is known for its exclusive single-cask bottlings and even counts the British royal family among its customers. This expertise is impressively reflected in the careful selection and bottling of this Orkney whisky.
