Special Features:

Fresh sweet and bitter oranges and matured French Cognac form the basis of this Zuidam liqueur. The oranges are selected by hand, washed and halved. During the subsequent distillation, the grain alcohol takes up the essential oils found mainly in the peels. Zuidam uses only the selected portion of the distillate with a clear, fresh orange aroma for this liqueur.

The French Cognac is artisanally distilled and matures for at least three years in French oak casks before being combined with the orange distillate and the other ingredients to make the liqueur. This combination complements the citrus fruit with vanilla, spice and delicate wood notes. Orange zest and subtle floral nuances add to the aromatic profile. The liqueur contains no added fragrances, colourings or flavourings and is offered at 40% alcohol in a 0.7-litre bottle.

The orange liqueur can be enjoyed neat, used in cocktails or added to desserts.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Ripe oranges and orange zest lead on the nose. Soft vanilla notes, a subtle spicy warmth and delicate floral nuances complement the aroma. A fine hint of Cognac completes the nose.
• Palate: The liqueur feels velvety and sweet on the palate. Sweet and bitter orange notes are evenly balanced, while the Cognac contributes depth and well-balanced spice.
• Finish: The fruit lingers on the finish, accompanied by a delicate oak note.

Distillery/Bottler:

Zuidam Distillers is an independent family business in Baarle-Nassau in the Netherlands, now run by the second generation. The distillery makes its distillates and extracts in-house and processes them further on site. Its range includes genever, gin and whisky alongside liqueurs. Natural raw materials form the basis of production; artificial fragrances, colourings and flavourings are not used.
