After its initial maturation, this twelve-year-old, unpeated Highland single malt receives a finish in Bual Madeira casks. Bacardi Global Travel Retail introduced it in 2023 as part of a three-age travel-retail collection. Bottled at 40% ABV, it combines Aberfeldy’s soft, honey-led style with apricot, raisin, orange, nuts and warm spice. Vanilla and a hint of candied ginger round out the aromas.

During maturation in oak casks, Madeira wine is repeatedly warmed and cooled. Exposure to oxygen contributes to its sweet, spicy and mildly oxidative character. The cask finish brings more fruit and spice to Aberfeldy’s familiar style without masking its soft, approachable nature.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, apricot and ripe pear meet honey, followed by raisins, vanilla and a delicate hazelnut note.
• Palate: On the palate, creamy orange, honey and toffee mingle with raisins and milk chocolate. Warm baking spices add a spicy accent.
• Finish: The finish is warm and gently dry. Honey and citrus linger alongside caramel, clove and oak spice.

Distillery/Bottler:

Aberfeldy Distillery is in Scotland’s Central Highlands and has used water from the Pitilie Burn since 1898. Charles Doig designed the distillery. Extended fermentation and slow distillation in copper pot stills help shape its fruity, honey-led house style.

John Dewar & Sons is behind the bottling, with Stephanie Macleod serving as its Malt Master. Bacardi Global Travel Retail introduced the Madeira cask range for travel retail in 2023.
