This 18-year-old batch release receives a full double sherry-cask finish in Spanish Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez casks. The number 007 identifies this particular edition, which is bottled at 43%.

Together, the two types of sherry cask shape a rich spectrum of aromas, ranging from ripe fruit, orange zest, plum jam and apricot through to toffee, chocolate-covered raisins, liquorice and nutmeg. Juicy raisins, dark chocolate and nutty accents deepen its sweet, fruity character.

The palate has a remarkably oily texture. It develops from ripe fruit and sherry sweetness through to toffee, dark chocolate and nutty accents, culminating in a long, complex and lingeringly sweet finale.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, intense sherry notes and juicy raisins mingle with ripe fruit, orange zest, plum jam and toffee pastries. Soft toffee and subtle spice nuances add further depth.
• Palate: The malt is remarkably oily on the palate. Apricot, dark chocolate, rich toffee and ripe sultanas join chocolate-covered raisins, a touch of liquorice and nutmeg to form a rich, complex body.
• Finish: The finish is long and complex, with fruity sherry notes, delicate spice and lingering sweetness fading harmoniously.

Distillery/Bottler:

Aberlour Distillery produces this official bottling, and Aberlour forms part of Pernod Ricard's brand portfolio. James Fleming founded the distillery in the Speyside region in 1879. It stands by the Lour and draws water from local springs. For Batch 007, the long maturation is followed by a double sherry-cask finish in Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez casks.
