The twelve-year-old anCnoc 12 matures in ex-bourbon casks. This Highland single malt combines the house’s light, fruity style with warm, spiced honey notes. The distillery bottling contains 0.7 litres, is bottled at 40% and comes in a tube.

The bottling is non-chill-filtered and contains colouring. Its profile brings together honey and lemon with malt and vanilla; caramel, green apple, black tea, floral sweetness, delicate oak, toasted grain and spice broaden its smooth character.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Honey and lemon come to the fore on the nose, followed by malt and vanilla.
• Palate: The whisky opens on the palate with a creamy character and black tea, followed by caramel, floral sweetness and fresh green apple.
• Finish: The medium-length finish reveals delicate oak and toasted grain, while the spice note lingers.

Distillery/Bottler:

Knockdhu Distillery is located in the Highland village of Knock and began operating in 1894. Its small team works largely by hand from mashing through to filling the casks, using copper stills, wooden washbacks and traditional dunnage warehouses.

Four natural springs on the Knock Estate prompted John Morrison to build a distillery at this location; the springs of the Black Hill continue to supply water for production. Knockdhu is the Gaelic name for the Black Hill, while the single malt bears the brand name anCnoc, meaning “the hill”.
