This single-cask bottling from the Founders' Selection belongs to Annandale's unpeated Man O' Words range. Distilled in 2017, the single malt matured for six years in first-fill ex-bourbon cask 1592 and was bottled in 2023 at its natural cask strength of 61.4%. It has a natural colour and was not chill-filtered.

The first-fill ex-bourbon cask combines bright orchard fruit and honey with creamy vanilla and sweet caramel. Grassy and floral nuances add freshness, while mild cask spice, nuts and oak give the whisky a warm, lingering character.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, ripe apples and pears mingle with creamy vanilla and delicate honeyed sweetness, while floral nuances complement the bright bouquet.
• Palate: On the palate, the orchard-fruit notes are layered and supple, accompanied by a subtle grassy note, creamy vanilla, sweet caramel and mild spices.
• Finish: The finish is long, with gentle vanilla, bright fruit, nutty spice and warm oak lingering on the palate.

Distillery/Bottler:

Annandale Distillery Company LTD is the producer and distillery bottler of this whisky. The distillery produced the spirit, matured it in cask 1592 and bottled it at its own site. Since opening its own bottling hall in October 2022, Annandale has kept distillation, maturation and bottling entirely at the distillery site.

The historic distillery near Annan was established between 1830 and 1836 and closed in 1918. Professor David Thomson and Teresa Church acquired the site in 2007 and had the distillery restored; production resumed on 9 November 2014. Dr Jim Swan contributed to the design of the new facility with its two spirit stills.

Annandale bottles its single-cask whiskies one cask at a time without vatting different casks together. Man O' Words is the unpeated range inspired by Robert Burns, while the peated Man O' Sword range takes its name from Robert the Bruce.
