Special Features:

This Founders' Selection bottling is an unpeated Man O'Words from refill ex-bourbon cask no. 1634. The single malt was distilled in 2017 and bottled in 2023 at its natural cask strength of 58.7%. It has no added colouring and was not chill-filtered.

The aromatic profile combines green apple and juicy pear with vanilla and caramel. Malt, nutty accents, gentle spice and oak add further depth.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Vanilla and caramel define the nose, accompanied by a delicate note of oak.
• Palate: Sweet and spicy notes are balanced on the palate, with a hint of citrus adding freshness.
• Finish: The finish is long and warming, with lingering oak.

Distillery/Bottler:

Annandale Distillery distilled this whisky in 2017, matured it in refill ex-bourbon cask no. 1634 and bottled it in 2023 as a distillery bottling. The distillery has had its own bottling hall since October 2022, allowing distillation, maturation and bottling to remain on site.

The distillery site near Annan dates back to a facility built between 1830 and 1836. Professor David Thomson and Teresa Church restored the operation. After its closure in 1918, new make spirit flowed there again for the first time on 9 November 2014. Dr Jim Swan designed the new facility with two spirit stills.

Annandale consistently matures and bottles its whiskies one cask at a time, without marrying the whiskies destined for its single-cask bottlings. Man O'Words is the unpeated range inspired by Robert Burns, while Man O'Sword, named after Robert the Bruce, is peated.
