Special Features:

At the heart of the current presentation is the established character of Ardbeg 10: a ten-year-old Islay Single Malt in a 0.7-litre bottle. It matures in bourbon casks and is bottled at 46%, at natural colour and without chill filtration.

Despite its distinctive smoke, fruity and floral sweetness provides a characteristic counterpoint, while a nuance of liquorice root adds a spicy accent.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Smoky fruit and lively lemon and lime form the opening. Powerful menthol and an impression of tarry rope then develop. With a little water, oceanic minerality emerges alongside cool, salty sea spray.
• Palate: Pronounced peat initially defines the palate. Brine, soft buttermilk and ripe banana then emerge.
• Finish: In the long, smoky finish, dry espresso combines with viscous peat oils that coat the palate.

Distillery/Bottler:

Ardbeg Distillery produces this Single Malt on Islay’s rocky southern coast, and it is released as an official distillery bottling. Established in 1815, the distillery resumed full-time production following periods of closure and its acquisition by The Glenmorangie Company in 1997.

A distinctive feature of the distillation process is the purifier on the still’s lyne arm, which contributes to the whisky’s balance and complexity. Ardbeg belongs to Moët Hennessy and LVMH.
