Ardmore Legacy combines smoky and non-smoky malts in a lightly peated distillery bottling. Maturation in bourbon casks is followed by an additional period in Quarter Casks. These smaller casks provide a greater internal wood surface area relative to the volume of liquid, intensifying the whisky’s interaction with the wood. It is bottled at 40% and comes in gift packaging.
Its sweet notes of heather honey, toffee and vanilla are accompanied by subtle peat smoke and smoky charcoal. A little water brings the charcoal more clearly to the fore without displacing the creamy sweetness.
