Auchentoshan Three Wood - new packaging (in GP)
Special features: The Auchentoshan Three Wood is a Scottish single malt whisky from the Lowlands region, offered in a gift packaging. It matures for 10 years in ex-bourbon casks, followed by two years in Oloroso sherry casks, and is finally refined for six months in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. This maturation method gives the whisky a special complexity and smoothness. Additionally, the whisky is triple distilled, which contributes to the increase in flavor diversity.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: The nose is characterized by dark fruits, brown sugar, oranges, and raisins.
- Palate: On the palate, fruits and sweet syrup combine with hazelnuts and cinnamon.
- Finish: The finish is fresh, fruity, and long.
Distillery/Bottler: The Auchentoshan Distillery is located in the Scottish Lowlands and is known for its triple distillation, which gives the whisky a special smoothness. The Auchentoshan Three Wood is the original bottling of the distillery and is an outstanding example of the flavor diversity that this distillery offers. The combination of different casks for maturation contributes to the characteristic emphasis of the regional style.
