Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Rich and full aromas of raisins, figs, dates, and dark cherries. Dark chocolate, walnuts, orange peel, and soft tobacco show the distinct influence of the Oloroso, complemented by spicy notes of cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg.
- Palate: Full, robust, and oily. Dark, sherry-driven fruits open up widely, with plum compote, raisins, and candied orange. Cocoa, espresso, nuts, toffee, and spicy oak contribute to the intensity, while the finish becomes slightly drier and shows black pepper and leather notes.
- Finish: Long, warm, and slowly drying with lingering dark fruits, cocoa, walnuts, and orange peel. Towards the end, spicy oak, soft tobacco, and the warmth of the Oloroso remain present.
Distillery/Bottler: Signatory Vintage was founded in 1988 by Andrew Symington in Edinburgh and is known for its high-quality bottlings. The company has a cask warehouse with over 10,000 casks, including bottlings from closed distilleries. In 2002, Signatory Vintage acquired the Edradour Distillery. The Cask Strength Collection includes cask strength bottlings that are offered without chill filtration.
