Special Features:

This single-cask bottling was distilled in 2014 and bottled in 2025 at eleven years of age. For its final 22 months, the whisky matured in refill European oak Malaga hogshead 376945. James Eadie then bottled the whisky at a cask strength of 58.1%, yielding 310 bottles. The whisky has no added colouring and is not chill-filtered.

The bottling combines a powerful malty body with honey, dark berries and dried fruit. Toffee, cocoa and vinous sweetness are accompanied by spice and oak, giving definition to the Malaga finish.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, dark honey and raisins mingle with grape must and spicy oak.
• Palate: On the palate, the powerful malty body reveals toffee, cocoa and dried fruit, accompanied by vinous sweetness.
• Finish: The very long, warming finish combines dark fruit and spice with dry oak.

Distillery/Bottler:

The Ben Nevis Distillery is located in Fort William in the western Highlands, at the foot of the mountain of the same name. John “Long John” MacDonald founded it in 1825; in 2025, the year this whisky was bottled, the distillery celebrated its 200th anniversary.

James Eadie continues the legacy of the brewery founded in 1854 by the Scottish brewer James Eadie and of the family’s handed-down blended Scotch recipe. Today, the company is headed by Rupert Patrick, a great-great-grandson. The independent bottler focuses its Limited Releases on cask finishes, single casks and small batches, releasing them at natural colour and without chill filtration. For this edition, James Eadie bottled the Ben Nevis as a single-cask release after its 22-month Malaga finish.
