Benrinnes 13 yo Whiskeyheroes: Silent Night - Brave New Spirits

Volume: 0.7 litres | Alcohol content: 54.1% | Chill filtration: No | Colouring: No

Special Features:

Silent Night is a 13-year-old Speyside single malt from the third release of The WhiskyHeroes series. It was finished in a first-fill Pedro Ximénez sherry barrique. Brave New Spirits bottled 386 bottles at 54.1% alcohol. The whisky is not chill-filtered and contains no added colouring.

The robust Benrinnes spirit and PX finish produce more than sweetness alone: dried apricot and candied ginger sit alongside hay, malt and bright citrus spice. Lemon peel and a hint of herbs give this full-bodied whisky a fresh, green and spicy side.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, dry hay, candied ginger and ripe apricot meet a lively citrus aroma.
• Palate: The palate has a full malt body, pronounced ginger spice, delicate sweetness from yellow stone fruit and distinct citrus spice.
• Finish: The medium-length finish brings together lemon zest, gently fading ginger heat and a subtle herbal note.

Distillery/Bottler:

Benrinnes Distillery stands on Ben Rinnes in Speyside and uses mineral-rich water from the surrounding area. Its traditional worm tubs condense alcohol vapour in coils immersed in cold water. This design contributes to the spirit’s broad, robust and spicy character.

Brave New Spirits is the independent bottler behind The WhiskyHeroes. For the series, it selects Scottish whiskies for single-cask or small-batch releases, using a range of cask maturations and finishes. Silent Night brings this approach together with Benrinnes spirit and a PX sherry barrique finish.
