Special Features:

This single-cask bottling spent its full ten-year maturation in a first-fill Oloroso sherry hogshead. Distilled in September 2015, the whisky was bottled from cask #311506 in January 2026 at a cask strength of 55.9%. The cask yielded 274 bottles; the whisky is neither chill-filtered nor coloured.

Ripe dark fruits and pronounced sherry sweetness combine with nuts and spicy notes. Caramel, toffee and butterscotch complement the profile, while dry wood balances the fruity sweetness.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Ripe dark fruits dominate the nose. Pronounced sherry sweetness and spicy notes accompany them, while caramel and toffee emerge in the background with delicate nutty hints.
• Palate: On the palate, fruity sweetness combines with spicy elements and butterscotch. Dry wood aromas bring balance and depth to the flavour.
• Finish: The finish is long and pleasantly dry, shaped by spicy notes and fading gently with lingering fruitiness.

Distillery/Bottler:

Benrinnes stands at the foot of Ben Rinnes in Speyside and draws mineral-rich water from the surrounding area. The distillery uses traditional worm tubs, which contribute to the weighty, spicy character of its spirit.

The Old Friends bottled the whisky under the name “Robinson Crusoe & Friday”. It belongs to the series’ summer 2026 release, which comprises five single malts whose names pay tribute to famous pairs of friends.
