Special Features:

This Benromach comes from single cask 3024410, a first-fill Burgundy cask. The whisky was distilled on 30 November 1982 and bottled by Gordon & MacPhail for the Private Collection after 39 years of maturation. The release comprises 202 bottles at a natural cask strength of 60.1%.

The whisky is non-chill-filtered and contains no added colouring. A wooden presentation case with a gold-embossed label completes the presentation of this single-cask release.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, strawberry jam and fresh blackberries mingle with creamy toffee, violets, candied lemon and aniseed biscuits.
• Palate: The palate is balanced and full-bodied, bringing together sugared orange peel, cherry cake and rock candy with cream and caramel, while oak spice gives the body structure.
• Finish: The long-lasting finish fades with red fruit and delicate wood spice.

Distillery/Bottler:

Benromach was established in Forres in 1898. When the distillery closed in 1983, the whisky used for this release, distilled in November 1982, was already maturing in its cask. Gordon & MacPhail acquired the distillery ten years later and spent the following five years refitting it before Benromach reopened in 1998. The family-owned company still owns the distillery and released this whisky as part of its Private Collection.
