Special features: This 16-year-old single malt whisky from the renowned Benromach Distillery was matured in a first fill Sassicaia wine cask (#584) and bottled exclusively for "The Awakening Series." This limited edition was presented on the occasion of the first Whisky Live fair in 2025 in Hamburg and is limited to only 262 bottles worldwide.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Inviting aromas of stewed red fruits, accompanied by spicy cinnamon notes and a hint of Seville oranges.
- Palate: Full-bodied and complex, with juicy cherries, dark chocolate, and dried dates that combine with fine wine aromas and an elegant wood spice note.
- Finish: Long-lasting and fruity-spicy, with notes of cocoa, red berries, and a warm hint of smoke in the aftertaste.
Distillery/Bottler: The Benromach Distillery, founded in 1898, is located in the heart of Speyside and is known for its artisanal production of single malt whiskies. After several closures and reopenings, the distillery was taken over by Gordon & MacPhail in 1998 and revived in 2004 with the first original bottling under new management.
