Special features: The Benromach 2015/2026 is an 11-year-old whisky from the renowned Benromach Distillery in Scotland, located in Speyside. This original bottling impresses with a finish in port wine casks. The distillery traditionally uses malted, lightly peated barley malt and distills in two copper pot stills. The maturation takes place in a combination of first-fill bourbon and sherry casks. Bottled after eleven years of aging, this bottling also has the advantage of being not chill-filtered, thus preserving the full depth of flavor.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose combines warm spices and aromas of summer berries, followed by sweet vanilla and chocolate.
• Palate: On the palate, the whisky presents itself gently with flavors of dark forest fruits, black pepper, and orange peel, accompanied by light ginger and charred oak.
• Finish: The finish is medium-bodied and leaves lingering summer fruits along with a subtle smokiness.

Distillery/Bottler: The Benromach Distillery was founded in 1898 and taken over by Gordon & MacPhail in 1993. After extensive renovations, the distillery resumed production in 1998. The whiskies from the Contrasts series are characterized by their special maturation methods, spending the first years in first-fill bourbon casks before being finished in port wine casks. Each cask is individually weighed and hand-labeled to ensure careful bottling.
