Berlin Dark Dry Gin offers a bolder, drier interpretation of Berliner Brandstifter's classic Berlin Dry Gin. Juniper takes a more prominent role, alongside blueberry, elderberry and violet. Fresh, floral impressions meet a more pronounced bitter note. Each edition comprises 9,999 bottles; the gin is bottled by hand at 43.3%, numbered and sealed.

The dark-blue colour turns purple when tonic is added, making colour a visual feature of the gin. Berliner Brandstifter uses colouring to keep the shade stable despite potential exposure to UV light and changes in temperature.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The gin is fresh and floral on the nose. Elderflower is accompanied by a subtle cucumber note.
• Palate: On the palate, floral and spicy flavours combine with a delicate sweetness.
• Finish: The finish is long and balanced, with a light spiciness.

Distillery/Bottler:

Vincent Honrodt founded Berliner Brandstifter in 2009. His inspiration goes back to his great-grandfather, who was already making spirits from regional ingredients in the early 20th century. The brand combines this family background with botanicals from Berlin and the surrounding area.

For the classic Berlin Dry Gin, flowers and other botanicals are first macerated for several weeks and then distilled separately. A production partner in Berlin-Kaulsdorf combines the individual distillates with a wheat distillate from the brand's premium Korn spirit. The wheat used for this comes from Germany.
