This miniature contains 0.05 litres of Black Bottle Original, a blended Scotch made from malt and grain whiskies, with an alcohol content of 40%. The whisky is coloured and chill-filtered.

Bold oak, dry smoke, sea salt, honey and charred toffee define the profile. Vanilla and coconut from the use of new oak casks complement this combination of spicy, maritime and sweet impressions.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, bold oak and floral notes combine with sweet, spicy smoke and a savoury note of bacon.
• Palate: On the palate, dry wood smoke meets sea salt and honey.
• Finish: Sea salt, spices, campfire, wood smoke and charred toffee linger on the finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

The story of Black Bottle began in 1879 with the brothers Charles, David and Gordon Graham. Originally from Torphins, they first made a name for themselves as tea blenders in Aberdeen before turning their attention to creating a distinctive Scotch whisky.

The current recipe draws on Gordon Graham’s original composition and contains a high proportion of malt whisky. Peated Islay malts, including Moine from Bunnahabhain, are combined with unpeated malts and grain whisky matured in ex-bourbon casks. Medium- and heavily charred casks encourage caramel notes, while malts matured in new oak contribute vanilla and coconut.
