Black Bull Kyloe Peated Finish puts the smoky side of the Kyloe range centre stage. This Scottish blend combines malt and grain whiskies and receives a peated finish. Maritime impressions and fruity apple notes complement its smoky character, while malty sweetness and a creamy finish provide a contrast.

The miniature contains 0.05 litres and is bottled at 50% alcohol. It is neither chill-filtered nor coloured and comes without additional packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Powerful smoke dominates the nose before maritime notes, caramelised sugar and fresh apples emerge after a short while. The smoke has a dry character; lightly salty touches, dark malt, green apple and a hint of brown sugar complement the bouquet.
• Palate: Malt sweets, toasted grain, baking spices, candied nuts and wood provide subtler accents beneath the prevailing sweetish smoke. Earthy peat and roasted salted almonds meet citrus notes. The sweetness remains balanced, and the mouthfeel is creamy.
• Finish: Vanilla and cream give the finish a creamy impression, complemented by oak. Intense smoke remains over these notes, fading only gradually. The long finish is warming and combines sweetness with salty tones. Spiced apples, cinnamon, cloves and smoky embers linger.

Distillery/Bottler:

Black Bull is backed by independent bottler Duncan Taylor, based in Huntly, Aberdeenshire. The company was founded in Glasgow in 1938 as a cask broker and trading house. Over the decades, it built up a stock of rare, long-matured whisky casks that became the foundation of its independent bottlings. Alongside blends, its range includes individual malt and grain whiskies.

Black Bull’s history goes back further: George Willsher, a grocer and whisky blender in Dundee, registered the brand in 1864. He favoured a high malt proportion and a robust alcohol strength. Euan Shand revived Black Bull in 2009, continuing these principles. The name Kyloe refers to a Scottish Highland cattle breed.
