This eight-year-old Bladnoch from the Galloway Collection undergoes double maturation exclusively in American oak red wine casks. Master Distiller Dr Nick Savage selects the casks by hand, and the single malt is bottled at 46.7%.

Fresh strawberries and herbaceous pine cones open the profile. Strawberry jam, polished oak and nutmeg follow on the palate, combining red fruit with distinct woody and spicy notes.

The whisky is non-chill-filtered, contains no colouring and comes in gift packaging. Its very long, sweet and warming finish completes the fruity and spicy profile.

Distillery/Bottler:

Bladnoch Distillery produces and bottles this single malt. The distillery’s licensed history began in 1817, when John and Thomas McClelland were granted a licence to distil on their farm in the Lowlands. David Prior took over the company in 2015 and had the facilities extensively refurbished; after two years of renovation, Bladnoch resumed production in 2017.

Bladnoch is Scotland’s southernmost distillery and stands on the River Bladnoch. Water from the river and malt sourced from British producers form the raw materials for the distillery’s Lowland single malts.
