Special Features:

The Margaux cask finish adds dark berries and blackcurrant to this Blair Athol’s malty character. Distilled in 2013 and matured for twelve years, the whisky comes from hogshead #303639. Berry Bros. & Rudd bottled it in 2025 for Crafted in Cask at 58.2%; the single-cask release comprises 288 bottles.

A little water also brings out apple, pear and orange peel. The whisky is not chill-filtered and contains no added colouring.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, buttery caramel pastries mingle with dark hedgerow berries, with blackcurrant particularly prominent. Vanilla and a hint of oak round out the aromas. Adding water reveals apple, ripe pear and orange peel.
• Palate: The whisky feels silky and sweet on the palate. Bold malt notes meet lively fruit, alongside hints of dark chocolate and spice.
• Finish: The warm finish fades with malt, green apple and a delicate herbal note. A hint of dried fruit and a lingering impression of oak remain.

Distillery/Bottler:

Blair Athol Distillery lies south of Pitlochry in the Vale of Atholl. Whisky has been made there since 1798, and ivy covers its historic buildings. The distillery is known for its rich, nutty and malty style. It uses unpeated malt and water from the Allt Dour. Its fermentation of about 50 hours contributes to the spirit’s nutty and fruity character.

Berry Bros. & Rudd selected the whisky for this independent single-cask bottling. The family business traces its history to 1698, when Widow Bourne opened a grocery shop on London’s St James’s Street. Wine and spirits were added later. Since the early 19th century, the company has bottled spirits from selected casks under its own name.
