Four Oloroso sherry butts make up this seven-year-old small batch of Blair Athol spirit distilled in 2016. Elixir Distillers bottled the whisky in 2024 at 48% for The Single Malts of Scotland. The bottling contains 0.7 litres, is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring.

Maturation in the large sherry casks brings together plum and raisin with caramel, cocoa and nuts. The youthful fruit remains present, while clove and oak provide a dry frame for the robust Highland character.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, ripe plum and raisin mingle with caramel, cocoa and warm sherry spice.
• Palate: The whisky is full and creamy on the palate, with dried fruit, hazelnut and clove meeting spicy oak.
• Finish: The finish is long and warming, as dark fruit, cocoa and sherry sweetness give way to dry oak.

Distillery/Bottler:

Blair Athol has been producing whisky in Pitlochry in the Scottish Highlands since 1798. Water from the Allt Dour, unpeated malt and fermentation lasting around 50 hours are among the foundations of its robust, fruity and sweet house style. Blair Athol Distillery also produced the single malt distilled in 2016 for this bottling.

For this independent bottling, Elixir Distillers combined whisky from four Oloroso sherry butts and released it under The Single Malts of Scotland brand. The range dates back to Sukhinder Singh's first proprietary single-cask bottling in 2002. The independent bottling arm, previously known as Speciality Drinks, was renamed Elixir Distillers in 2017.
