Blanche Armagnac Ugni Blanc - Armagnac Darroze
Special features: This Blanche Armagnac from Darroze is made from the Ugni Blanc grape, a variety used in Gascony for both the distillation of Armagnac and the production of Côtes de Gascogne wines. The grape gives the Armagnac balance and finesse. The clear spirit was aged for several months in wooden barrels to preserve and refine its character. During this maturation, the alcohol content was reduced to about 49% to optimally showcase the aromas.
Tasting Notes:
-
Nose: Clear and delicate with aromas of grape, plum, and quince, along with surprising notes of fresh sugarcane and cane sugar.
-
Palate: Dry, silky, and very fine, without sweetness, with additional aromas of bitter almond, vine blossom, and raisin.
-
Finish: Very long-lasting and elegant.
Distillery/Bottler: The Darroze family has specialized in the selection and bottling of high-quality Armagnacs since 1974. They place great importance on authenticity and craftsmanship, with the Armagnacs being reduced solely through evaporation during aging, without the addition of water or coloring.
