Blended Scotch Whiskey 20 yo Whiskeyheroes: Enigma of the Elite - Brave New Spirits

Volume: 0.7 litres | Alcohol content: 44.7% | Chill filtration: No | Colouring: No

Special Features:

Enigma of the Elite is part of the third release in Brave New Spirits’ WhiskyHeroes series. This 20-year-old blended Scotch combines Speyside malt with Lowland grain whisky and matured in a bourbon hogshead. The whisky was bottled from the cask at 44.7% ABV, yielding 295 bottles. It is not chill-filtered and contains no added colouring.

Alongside the sweetness of brittle and caramel pastries are dried orange, garden herbs and floral accents. The comic-style label features the series’ heroic characters.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Honey brittle and dried orange peel lead on the nose, followed by hawthorn blossom and fresh garden herbs.
• Palate: On the palate, sweet caramel pastries and candied citrus peel meet a little thyme and a hint of violet.
• Finish: The medium-length finish brings herbal honey, a slight citrus bitterness and floral spice.

Distillery/Bottler:

Brave New Spirits is an independent bottler and blender based in Glasgow. For WhiskyHeroes, the company selects individual casks and small batches from different regions of Scotland and gives the releases distinctive labels with a storytelling theme. It also operates its own bottling facility in Glasgow. Enigma of the Elite brings together malt whisky from Speyside and grain whisky from the Lowlands.
