Bowmore 25 Years Old matures in selected American ex-bourbon casks and European Oloroso sherry casks. A final sherry-cask finish completes its long maturation. The whisky combines ripe fruit with nutty sweetness, while Bowmore’s characteristic smoke remains restrained.

Rhubarb, dried plums and sultanas form a core of ripe fruit. Fresh raspberry adds a slightly tart accent, while vanilla cream, stone fruit, toffee and hazelnut bring richness. Butterscotch, toasted cocoa and mineral notes also shape its character; sweet smoke accompanies the fruit. This single malt is offered at 43% in a 0.7-litre bottle with gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, rhubarb, dried plums and sultanas mingle with fresh, slightly tart raspberry and creamy vanilla.
• Palate: The palate brings sweet stone fruit and confectionery notes alongside soft toffee and hazelnuts.
• Finish: Sweet smoke and soft notes of toffee and hazelnut linger through the long finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

Bowmore’s history is documented back to 1779. The distillery stands on the shore of Loch Indaal on Islay, and its historic maturation warehouses include the No. 1 Vaults. Bowmore has its own malting floors, where the barley is turned by hand. Peat smoke during drying contributes to the distillery’s characteristic style. Fermentation takes place in six Oregon pine washbacks, and the distillery has four stills. Bowmore distils and bottles the 25 Years Old itself as a distillery bottling. The brand belongs to Suntory Global Spirits.
