This single-cask bottling highlights Braeval’s bright, fruity Speyside character at natural cask strength. The whisky was distilled in January 2013 and bottled by Hart Brothers ten years later, in January 2023, at 58.6%. It is not chill-filtered and contains no colouring; it comes in a dark green tube.

Apricot, nectarine and pear combine with honey and heather to form the whisky’s fruity and floral side. Black pepper, caramel and oak add spice, sweetness and structure.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, spicy notes mingle with apricot, nectarine and pear, while honey and a hint of heather complement the fruity profile.
• Palate: The whisky is smooth and full-bodied on the palate. Pronounced peppery spice meets light fruit and a gentle sweetness of honey and caramel.
• Finish: The medium to long finish combines lingering oak and wood notes with creamy sweetness and a hint of herbs.

Distillery/Bottler:

Braeval was founded by Chivas Brothers in 1973 and was originally named Braes of Glenlivet. The Speyside distillery is located in a remote part of the Highlands and ranks among Scotland’s highest distilleries.

Hart Brothers traces its roots to a family active in the licensed hospitality trade around Glasgow. In 1964, Iain and Donald Hart established the company as a wine and spirits wholesaler and a Scotch whisky blender. The independent bottler seeks out rare malt and grain whiskies, allows suitable stocks to mature further and decides whether to bottle individual casks only after careful tasting. Hart Brothers bottled this ten-year-old Braeval in January 2023.
