Special Features:

This long-matured Islay single malt comes from a refill hogshead in Cask Series 028. It was distilled in October 2002 and bottled in June 2026 after 23 years. The cask yielded 201 bottles at 51.2%; the whisky has its natural colour and was not chill-filtered.

Caramelised citrus fruit and a warm note slightly reminiscent of modelling clay open the nose. On the palate, rich vanilla cream lies beneath cinnamon, nutmeg and clove, giving the whisky a full, soft centre. The finish remains long, creamy and sweet, with marzipan and hazelnut.

Bunnahabhain Distillery produced this Islay single malt. North Star Spirits selected the refill hogshead and bottled the whisky as an independent bottler in Cask Series 028.

Bunnahabhain was established in 1881 together with a remote distillery village on Islay’s north-east coast; production began in 1883. Tall stills and a generally unpeated, robust house style are among the distillery’s defining characteristics.

North Star Spirits is headed by Iain Croucher and focuses on distinctive single casks as an independent bottler. North Star Spirits selects each cask individually and provides transparent details about the type of wood, alcohol content, and dates of distillation and bottling. The number of bottles available is determined by the contents of each individual cask—in this case, 201 bottles.
