For the May Collection 2025, Cadenhead's combined equal parts of two Glen Garioch whiskies matured differently. One spent its entire maturation in bourbon casks; the other was finished in Fino sherry casks from 2020. Distilled in 2013, the 11-year-old whisky was bottled on 22 April 2025 at 46%. It is neither chill-filtered nor coloured.

The dry Fino character contrasts with the sweeter fruit notes of the bourbon-cask portion. Apple blossom, raspberry and marzipan meet creamy dessert notes, while salted caramel, chocolate orange and cinnamon add spice.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose offers apple blossom and apple crumble, accompanied by a note reminiscent of raspberry ripple ice cream.
• Palate: On the palate, marzipan and creamy panna cotta mingle with the taste of fruit salad.
• Finish: Salted caramel, chocolate orange and cinnamon linger on the finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

Glen Garioch distils its single malt in Oldmeldrum in the Highlands. The distillery gives 1797 as its official founding year. Its founders, the Manson brothers, came from a farming family; the original operation on the edge of the market town also included a brewery.

Cadenhead's is the independent bottler of this edition. The company traces its roots to a wine and spirits merchant founded in Aberdeen in 1842 and is now part of J & A Mitchell & Co. Ltd. In Campbeltown, Cadenhead's selects casks and handles work including transferring, marrying and sampling whisky; it also bottles its whiskies there.
