Signatory Vintage bottled it in 2026 for the Cask Strength Collection as a single-cask release at a cask strength of 58.1%. The whisky is neither chill-filtered nor coloured, and the bottle contains 0.7 litres.

Powerful peat, maritime salt and iodine notes contrast with figs, raisins and citrus. On the palate, an oily texture, caramel, bitter chocolate and structured oak spice add further depth; the long finish remains peaty and spicy, with a delicate raisin sweetness.

Distillery/Bottler:

This single malt comes from the Caol Ila distillery on Islay; Signatory Vintage bottled the resulting whisky as an independent bottler. The distillery has stood near Port Askaig on Islay’s east coast since 1846, overlooking the Sound of Islay towards Jura. Its Gaelic name means “Sound of Islay”, and it produces both peated and unpeated single malts. This release highlights its powerfully smoky side, while the coastal location contributes to its fresh maritime character.

Signatory Vintage was founded in 1988 by Andrew Symington and his brother. By 2007, the company had moved its operations entirely to the Edradour Distillery site in Pitlochry.
