Cartron - Le Vermouth rouge
Special features: The Cartron - Le Vermouth rouge comes from France and is produced by Joseph Cartron. This vermouth combines the flavors of 21 ingredients, including wormwood, orange, cinnamon, turmeric, thyme, ginger, and Sichuan pepper. The botanicals and fruits are each macerated in cane sugar distillate and water; plants and spices for 5 to 15 days, red fruits for up to 5 weeks. With an alcohol content of 17.5%, it is versatile.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: The nose reveals aromas of blackberry juice, aged balsamic vinegar, and cloves.
- Palate: On the palate, it is peppery and earthy with fruity notes of black currant, sour cherry, rhubarb, and a hint of cocoa.
- Finish: The finish is dry with tannin-rich delight.
Distillery/Bottler: Joseph Cartron is a French producer of liqueurs and vermouth, based in Nuits-Saint-Georges. The vermouth is distilled in copper pot stills. For refinement, crystallized sugar is slowly incorporated into the final blend. The Vermouth Rouge contains a mixture of Pinot Noir and the filtered infusions.
