Special features: The Chairman's Reserve Original Rum was first created in 1999 under the leadership of then-director Laurie Barnard. This premium rum represents the iconic style of St. Lucian rum and is made from a blend of rums distilled in column and pot stills. After aging in ex-bourbon barrels, the blend is stored for an additional six months in oak barrels, resulting in a harmonious and balanced flavor.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Hints of banana, chocolate, and vanilla meet coffee notes.
- Palate: Balanced with fine structure, accompanied by accents of chocolate, raisins, tobacco, and clove.
- Finish: Long-lasting and creamy.
Distillery/Bottler: The St. Lucia Distillers Group was founded in 1972 and is the only industrial distillery on the Caribbean island of St. Lucia. It produces, among others, the brands Chairman's Reserve, Admiral Rodney, and Bounty. The distillery combines traditional production methods with modern technology and emphasizes environmental awareness, for example, through bottle recycling and wastewater management.
