Special Features:

The Paris Edition 2025 brings together motifs from Paris and Tokyo. Harajuku is paired with Le Marais as one of three pairs of neighbourhoods, while the serrated edges of the six colourful labels evoke the shape of postage stamps. All six designs identify the same 2025 cuvée. The Harajuku version bears reference 68872C. Whiskies from 17 casks were married for this release, which is limited to 2,484 individually numbered bottles. They are between five and fourteen years old; the single malt was bottled at 50.5% without colouring or chill filtration.

The cask selection comprises four new French oak casks, one Spanish ex-Sherry cask, three French ex-Bordeaux red wine casks, one American oak Hogshead and six Bourbon Barrels. Two further Bourbon Barrels had previously held heavily peated whisky. Passion fruit and dark berries open the profile; lemon, honey, wax and barley porridge follow on the palate before fresh herbs shape the long finish.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose is rich and creamy. Passion fruit, lychee, dark grapes and blackberries rest on a slightly bitter malt note, while cinnamon, dry leaves, porcini mushrooms and prunes add further depth.
• Palate: The palate opens with a firm, oily texture and notes of peat, lemon and pepper. It then becomes honeyed, waxy and increasingly creamy, followed by toast, rusks, barley porridge, mirabelle plum and damson.
• Finish: The finish is long, concentrated and fresh. Malty notes mingle with gentian, mint, eucalyptus and sage, while passion fruit, candied plum, toffee and Bourbon vanilla linger.

Distillery/Bottler:

The Chichibu Distillery was founded by Ichiro Akuto in 2008 in Japan’s Saitama Prefecture. The distillery employs artisanal methods and uses local spring water. Chichibu distilled the whiskies used for this distillery bottling. They matured in 17 casks and were subsequently married, after which the distillery bottled the resulting single malt itself.

The Chichibu Paris Edition has been released annually since 2018 as a collaboration between Chichibu and La Maison du Whisky. The 2025 edition focuses on the urban connections between Paris and Tokyo through six different label designs.
