Le Marais and Harajuku form one of three urban pairings in the Paris Edition 2025. Six colourful, postage stamp-inspired labels also explore the connections between Montmartre and Asakusa, and between the Champs-Élysées and Ginza.

The five- to fourteen-year-old whiskies in the marriage come from 17 casks: four new French oak casks, one Spanish ex-sherry cask, three French ex-Bordeaux casks, one American oak hogshead, six bourbon barrels and two ex-heavy-peat bourbon barrels.

This official bottling is limited to 2,484 bottles and has an alcohol content of 50.5%. It is non-chill-filtered, contains no added colouring and comes in gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose is rich and complex. Passion fruit, lychee, dark grapes and blackberries mingle with cinnamon, dried leaves, porcini mushrooms and prunes.
• Palate: The whisky is lively, oily and powerfully peaty on the palate. Lemon and pepper open the taste, followed by honey, wax, toast and barley porridge, together with mirabelle plum and ripe damson.
• Finish: The finish is long, malty and fresh with herbs. Gentian, mint, eucalyptus and sage are accompanied by passion fruit, candied prune, toffee and Bourbon vanilla.

Distillery/Bottler:

Ichiro Akuto founded Venture Whisky in 2004 and launched Ichiro's Malt in 2005. In the process, he secured around 400 casks from the stocks of his family's distillery. Chichibu Distillery was established in 2007 and began operating after receiving its production licence in 2008.

At Chichibu, the distillery makes use of the local climatic conditions and Mizunara oak fermentation vats as characteristic elements of its production methods. Venture Whisky is responsible for the Ichiro's Malt brand, which includes this Paris Edition.
