Christian Drouin 17 years old Savanna Angels - Calvados Pays d'Auge
Special features: The "Savanna Angels" is an extraordinary Calvados from the renowned Experimental series by Christian Drouin. For this edition, a 17-year-old Calvados Pays d'Auge with intense aromas of roasted apples was selected. It then matured for between six and nine months in former barrels from the Savanna distillery on the island of La Réunion, which previously contained Rhum Traditionnel aged 9 to 14 years. This innovative barrel aging gives the Calvados an exotic and spicy dimension without overshadowing the characteristic terroir flavor.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Seductive aromas of vanilla and praline that develop into musk and dried fruits.
Palate: Intense and smooth, marked by spicy notes.
Finish: A long-lasting aftertaste with aromas of brown sugar and baked apple that envelops the palate.
Distillery/Bottler: The Drouin family has been dedicated to the art of Calvados production in Normandy for three generations. With carefully selected apples and masterful aging, Eaux-de-Vie with rich and complex aromas are created. The Experimental series is a testament to their spirit of innovation and passion for extraordinary taste experiences.
