Special Features:

The current recipe marries Clonakilty’s own Single Pot Still whiskey with Single Grain whiskey. It is matured in ex-bourbon casks and former Port wine casks from the Douro Valley. The whiskey is bottled at 43.6%.

The whiskey combines fresh, sweet apples, ripe peach and vanilla with a note of cream and delicate impressions of wood. Cherry and raisin lead into gentle spice and cardamom, followed by mild spices and a hint of chocolate that shape the medium-length finish.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals fresh, sweet apples, ripe peach and vanilla. A note of cream and a delicate woody note complement the fruit.
• Palate: The whiskey is very fruity on the palate, with cherry and raisin accompanied by gentle spices and a distinct hint of cardamom.
• Finish: The finish is medium in length, combining gentle spice with a delicate hint of chocolate.

Distillery/Bottler:

For this blend, Clonakilty Distillery combines its own Single Pot Still whiskey with Single Grain whiskey. The distillery was founded by the Scully family in County Cork, whose farming roots on Ireland’s Atlantic coast stretch back nine generations. On 1 May 2019, it filled its first cask with its own Single Pot Still spirit; this whiskey is now a component of the Port Cask blend.
