Special Features:

This Clynelish matured for 35 years in a single bourbon barrel. The whisky was distilled on 4 May 1990 and bottled by Signatory Vintage on 23 May 2025 for Symington's Choice within the Cask Strength Collection. Cask No. 3505 yielded 63 bottles at a natural cask strength of 40.6%. The whisky is non-chill-filtered and contains no added colouring; the 0.7-litre bottle comes in a metal tin.

Despite its long maturation, the distillery's waxy character remains clear. Waxy lemon and delicate malt sit alongside coconut sweetness, a saline coastal note, dark chocolate and ripe fruit reminiscent of sherried fruit. Tropical fruit, vanilla and oak add further layers. A waxy texture brings these impressions together without obscuring the whisky's distinctive Clynelish character.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, ripe tropical fruit and candied citrus peel mingle with a waxy note. Light oak, vanilla cream and a little dried hay round out the aroma.
• Palate: The whisky feels gentle on the palate, with grilled pineapple, toffee and waxy malt. Subtle oak spice and dried herbs follow.
• Finish: The long finish turns dry, with grapefruit, toasted wood and a trace of almond oil.

Distillery/Bottler:

Clynelish stands near the coast in the northern Highlands. The first distillery was established in 1819; the present facility was built opposite the original site. Its spirit is known for a delicate waxy character and coastal hints. Signatory Vintage is an independent bottler co-founded by Andrew Symington in 1988. Based at the Edradour site in Pitlochry since 2007, the company focuses in part on selecting individual casks. For this edition, Signatory selected whisky distilled at Clynelish from cask No. 3505.
