This 30-year-old blended Scotch combines single malts from Speyside and the Highlands with Lowland single grain whisky. Coleburn Deluxe is not a single malt from the closed Coleburn Distillery. Murray McDavid brought together the already matured components for this bottling in the Mission Gold range.

The blend was finished in Oloroso sherry butt #19 at the Coleburn Warehouses. Murray McDavid bottled it in 2024 at 44.6%, yielding a total of 397 bottles. This 0.7-litre bottling is non-chill-filtered and contains no colouring.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals dates and raisins.
• Palate: Dark chocolate and roasted coffee come together on the palate.
• Finish: The finish combines sweet oak, walnut and clove with an accent of orange.

Distillery/Bottler:

Murray McDavid was founded in 1994 and is now part of Aceo. The independent bottler manages around 70,000 casks across several sites, including Coleburn, Royal Brackla and Kinloss. For this Coleburn Deluxe, Murray McDavid created the blend, finished it in an Oloroso sherry butt and bottled it.

The history of Coleburn Distillery dates back to its founding in 1896; distilling there ceased in 1985. Murray McDavid now uses the site for cask storage. Its facilities include Victorian dunnage warehouses, where this bottling was also finished.
